Metal element is one of thirteen elemental magic that available in Eastern Europe, and the second place of derivative element list in the Eastern Europe Magic Law. The wizards who possess the Metal element are born with two elements: Fire and Earth, and born from two wizards who possess Fire and Earth element. Which means, Metal element cannot be learnt by other kinds of element.
In present time, Metal wizards are second population that common to be found after Ice Wizard.
History
First Metal wizard that known in the history of magic is Jurgis Kalvalis from Balkan (specifically, Estonian). He’s the very first wizard who got lucky to not get murdered as a baby because of Metal wizard’s unnatural birth condition (shaped like a large charcoal). In adult years, he met other Metal wizard who got lost in her way, named Anastasia Rubina. They got married and decided to create an orphanage. The mission to help raising Metal wizard children who got dumped by their parents, is slowly developed into the idea to create an underground secret state. An utopia where Metal wizards can interact each other and living their life normally.
Location and Distribution
Before 1905, Metal Wizards have their own state named Metal Oblast’ (Метальный Область). The location at underground of Balkan region (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) until border of Tula City. The founder of the secret state are husband and wife, Jurgis Kalvalis and Anastasia Rubina. They are also responsible as the governor of the secret state. All of Metal wizard instantly gain their citizenship no matter where they are come from, and allowed to stay as long as they can.
Most of skillful blacksmiths are came from this Oblast’, as they have special knowledge to identify the gemstone that every Metal wizard have in their eyes.
During the Metal Massacre at 1905, Metal Oblast’ was completely destroyed until nothing’s left. All of the citizens are fleeing to many regions.
In present times, Metal wizards are living in normal life among other wizards and human.
Magic Ability
As per name, Metal wizards means they can manipulate any metal and gemstones into anything. And since they are also possessing Fire and Earth element, they could cast spell that usually Fire and Earth wizards use with limited amount. They are also notably having blacksmith skill, until able to identify any mineral and metal with one look.
Characteristic
Since Metal wizards are born-based, not created or learnt-based, they have their own characteristic:
Ageusia
All of Metal wizard’s tongue are having a condition called Ageusia (loss sense of taste). They cannot taste normal food like human or other elemental wizards, and even get nauseated if being forced to eat them. The only food that they can eat is ash and charcoal. Therefore, usually Metal wizard will burn any human food until completely burnt to make them fit in with other people.
In Soviet Union times, Metal wizards discovered that they still can taste milk, even gained a temporary stronger magic when casting the spell. This lead to a serious military program to focusing milk ration for Metal wizards who deployed on military drafts or wars.
Then around 1998, after the research and experiment by adding Hepatitis-B vaccine, young Metal Wizards are able to taste sweet/sour/savory/bitter from drinks. They can also eat the coconut husk as it taste sweet. This become a great revolution, making it as mandate to get vaccine since birth.
Unnatural Birth Condition
All babies who possessed Metal element are born to looked completely burned as charcoal. However, they are still alive and this condition only temporary. As days passed, the burned skin will heal by itself, and in the 7th day, they will become normal baby. Before the knowledge about Metal wizard exist, many wizards are burying the baby, thinking the baby is completely dead. This changed after Metal Oblast’ established, and more wizards are aware with this condition.
Unnatural Strength
Unlike other wizards who are having normal human strength or Ice wizards who have glass-bones, Metal wizards are considered to have superhuman strength. They are able to lift any objects 10,000 kg heavier than them, which made them also skillful at martial arts if being trained well in military. They also cannot be hurt by any blades. However, they can still get shot since the weapon is using hot bullets. They are able to hiking or travelling without eating and drinking for more than a month. In Magic Force of Russia, Metal wizards are often given responsibility with heavy weapons carrier.
Stone Eyes
Metal wizards’ eyes are quite special: when they are dead, their eyes will be hardened and turn into a gemstone. Each of them have unique gemstone, and usually identified by Metal blacksmiths who have knowledge over gemstone around the world. Alas, this condition is one of external factor that lead to Metal Massacre, where all victims in the massacre have their eyes gouged out after being killed.
Magic Media
Metal wizards are having their own weapon when casting their spell, invented by Jurgis Kalvalis when first time establishing the orphanage. His creation later inherited by every Metal wizards who dedicate their life as blacksmiths. All of those weapons are made from gemstone and gold, and not meant for a physical battle but as a media to focusing their aim when casting spells.
Eastern Europe Magic Law keep allowing the usage of this weapon until now.
Golden Hammer
For male Metal wizards, their weapons are hammer. The handle and the grip made from gold, and the head is made from gemstone that match with their stone eyes. Some wizards are prefer to use a full-golden hammer for easier to be carried, and it doesn’t have any difference at casting spell. Male Metal wizards will swing the hammer to activate the spell.
Golden Telescope
For female Metal wizards, their weapons are telescope. The objective lens is from white diamond shaped carefully into a lens, the stretch and eyepiece are made from gold, and the handle is made from sheep leather. Female Metal wizards will use the telescope on their eyes to activate the spell.
Notable History
Wizard Hunt (1220-1723)
Metal Wizards are considered as neutral side, not even participating nor hunted by humans and wizards who join The Dark. Anastasia Rubina become the representative of Metal element, and with several element wizards, they signing the peaceful agreement.
Metal Massacre of 1905
60% of Metal wizards population in Metal Oblast’ are murdered by Russian Empire soldiers, as their secret state location being ratted by a young Fire wizard named Ilya Misovsky. This is the first time Metal wizards have to adapt with human world after being comfortable living in underground.
Neutral Hunt (1918-1990)
Metal Wizards are the number one wanted list in Soviet Union era, as their blacksmith skill and their stone eyes are resourceful for government’s funding. Some Metal wizards who caught by NKVD are forced to manipulate all metals into good
Decree of Derivative Elements 1991
Alongside with Ice and Lava, several mysterious Metal wizards able to sneak into Boris Yeltsin’s place and made him creating Decree of Derivative Elements. Inside the decree are to protect Ice, Metal and Lava wizards from exploitation by human and other wizards. This decree still applied until now, which help thriving the population of Ice, Metal and Lava wizard population after almost wiped out in previous times.
Indigo Conflict (2004-2021)
Metal Wizards are one of participants in the Indigo Conflict, specifically in providing underground transportation to help wizard easily escape from the Indigo and human’s rampage. Some of them are also playing role in hunting and killing Indigo people.
